CommunicationFIRST is a disability-led nonprofit advancing the rights of children and adults who cannot rely on speech alone to communicate. It offers educational resources, advocacy toolkits, and practical communication tips to help nonspeaking individuals, AAC users, families, and caregivers understand communication rights, advocate for access and accommodations, and support individuals’ choices and participation in everyday life. Its work centers on autonomy, inclusion, and the perspectives of people with speech-related disabilities.
